The October Meeting was opened by the Chairman with a warm welcome to those attending for the first time


Under Items of interest were notes on Conservation Areas Appraisal Consultation proposed by the Council under which inferences, although veiled were concerning. The Chairman guided members through the current legislation in England and Wales the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 (Section 69 and 70), wherein are definitions on the quality of a conservation area as being: "the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance". Members agreed that further information should be sought and if need be supplications made.


Under ‘Forthcoming events’ there was notification of the annual  West London Post Card Fair which is being held  Saturday 14th October Teddington Baptist Church 10-15 – 4pm


Members were made aware of a talk to be given at Feltham Library pertaining to the Battle of Paschendale by Neil Dobson at Feltham Library 9th November at 7pm


It was agreed that the group would mount a display at Feltham Library commemorating WW1, WW11 and various other conflicts – this will be from Saturday 4th November Monday 12th November


In AOB the Secretary suggested a Friends of Feltham Summer Event (July 2018)should be produced; members agreed that given the number of al-fresco events dwindling it was for the group to promote such


The Short talk for the evening was given through the medium of ‘fade’by Andi Barnes on Bedfont ‘now and then’
